Device Manager information prints out...due to printer driver not text-only.
Cause:
When the Device Manager information is saved as a text file to be printed at a later time, the printout will appear garbled. This occurs because the hidden formatting codes are printed.
Solution:
To print at a later time, right-click the desired printer icon in the 'Printers' window, and select 'Work Offline' or 'Pause Printing'. To print directly from Device Manager instead of a text file, double-click 'System' in 'Control Panel', click the 'Device Manager' tab, and click 'Print...'.
1) (Optional) If you would like to defer the printing of the Device Manager:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Printers'. (The 'Printers' window appears.)

c) Right-click the appropriate printer icon. (A pop-up menu appears.)
d) Do one of the following:
1] For portable computers or computers using a network printer, select 'Work Offline'.
2] For computers using local printers, select 'Pause Printing'.
NOTE: A check mark appears to the left of the menu item that has been selected.
2) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
3) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
4) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)
5) Click the 'Device Manager' tab. (The 'Device Manager' tabbed page appears.)
6) Click 'Print...'. (The 'Print' dialog box appears.)
7) Do one of the following in the 'Report type' group:
a) Select the 'System summary' radio button to print the summary of the system.
b) Select the 'Selected class or device' radio button to print the resources and device drivers used by the selected hardware.
c) Select the 'All devices and system summary' radio button to print the system information and device information.
8) (Optional) To set the printer options:
a) Click 'Setup...'. (The 'Print Setup' dialog box appears.)
b) To select the desired printer, do one of the following in the 'Printer' group:
1] To print to the default printer, select the 'Default printer' radio button.
2] To print to a printer other than the default printer, select the 'Specific printer' radio button, and select the printer from the drop-down list box.
c) To set the page orientation, do one of the following in the 'Orientation' group:
1] Select the 'Portrait' radio button.
2] Select the 'Landscape' radio button.
d) In the 'Paper' group, select the appropriate paper size from the 'Size' drop-down list.
e) In the 'Paper' group, select the appropriate paper source from the 'Source' drop-down list.
f) Click 'OK'. (The 'Print' dialog box reappears.)
9) Click 'OK' to print the device information.
